Apple launches new MacBook Pro with M3 chips and Liquid Retina XDR display
Cupertino (California), Oct 31 (IANS) ★Apple has refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup, introducing the all-new family of M3 chips (M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max). The new models come in 14★and 16-inch sizes, with the M3 Pro and M3 Max available in a new space black finish.

The new MacBook Pro models are now available for order and will be delivered to Apple Store locations and authorized resellers starting November 7, according to Apple.
Pricing for the new MacBook Pro models is as follows:
- 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 starts at Rs 169,900 (Rs 158,900 for education)
- 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro starts at Rs 199,900 (Rs 184,900 for education)
- 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Max starts at Rs 249,900 (Rs 229,900 for education)
John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, emphasized the power and capabilities of the new MacBook Pro models. He stated, “With the remarkable power-efficient performance of Apple silicon, up to 22 hours of battery life, a stunning Liquid Retina XDR display, and advanced connectivity, MacBook Pro empowers users to do their life’s best work.”
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 offers great performance for everyday tasks and sustained performance in pro apps and games. The MacBook Pro with M3 Pro provides even greater performance and additional unified memory support, making it suitable for demanding workflows. The 14★and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Max offers extreme performance and capabilities for tasks like machine learning programming, 3D art, and video editing, Apple said.
The new MacBook Pro models feature the same Liquid Retina XDR display with 20% brighter SDR content, a built-in 1080p camera, and an immersive six-speaker sound system. Apple claims that the M3 Max model is up to 11 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro model, with up to 11 additional hours of battery life compared to the same Intel-based model.
In addition to the MacBook Pro, Apple also unveiled the new 24-inch iMac featuring the M3 chip. The new iMac offers a significant performance boost compared to the previous generation and is available in seven vibrant colors. The 24-inch iMac with M3 is up to 2x faster than the prior generation with M1, up to 2.5x faster than the most popular 27-inch models, and 4x faster than the most powerful 21.5-inch model.
The new iMac features a 4.5K Retina display with 11.3 million pixels, faster wireless connectivity, and seamless integration with iPhone. Pricing for the iMac starts at Rs 134,900 for the 8-core GPU model and Rs 154,900 for the 10-core GPU model.
Overall, the new MacBook Pro and iMac models offer significant performance improvements and advanced features, making them attractive options for both everyday users and professionals in various fields.
