The next Vande Bharat train to be launched on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is poised to be a remarkable addition to India’s high-speed rail network. Speeds of up to 160 km per hour will allow passengers to reach their destinations more swiftly, with the recent completion of the third and final trial for the new train affirming its readiness.
Enhanced Speed and Efficiency
This Vande Bharat train is designed to operate at a top speed of 160 km/h, significantly reducing travel time for passengers. The advanced design and technology ensure that the train can accelerate to its maximum speed in just 140 seconds, making it one of the fastest trains on this route.
Travelers will see their journey time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad cut by 45 minutes, reducing the current travel duration of approximately 5 hours and 25 minutes to a more convenient timeframe.
Superior Comfort and Safety
In addition to speed, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat train will surpass its predecessors in terms of passenger amenities and safety features. Passengers will experience enhanced comfort and state-of-the-art safety measures, making the journey not only faster but also more enjoyable and secure compared to the Vande Bharat trains operating on routes like New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Katra.
Scheduled Operation
Reports indicate that, similar to other Vande Bharat trains, the new train on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route will operate six days a week, with services paused only on Sundays. Official confirmation from the Railway authorities is still awaited.
Currently, train number 22962 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express departs Ahmedabad at 06:10 AM and arrives at Mumbai Central at 11:35 AM, making stops at major stations including Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali.
For the return journey, train number 22961 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express leaves Mumbai Central at 3:55 PM and reaches Ahmedabad at 9:25 PM, stopping at the same stations.
