The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk products under the Amul brand, announced an increase in milk prices by Rs 2 per litre in the state.
GCMMF sources said that the prices of Amul milk have increased since Saturday in the entire state, including Saurashtra, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Sources said that a 500 ml pack of Amul Gold will now be available at Rs 32, Amul Standard at Rs 29 per 500 ml, Amul Fresh at Rs 26 per 500 ml and Amul Tea-Special at Rs 30 per 500 ml.
Prices increased for the first time after the Gujarat assembly elections. For the first time after the assembly elections held in Gujarat in December, Amul milk prices have increased. GCMMF had earlier raised the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre in August last year.
