This article provides updates on the claims regarding voter registrations at a specific house in Gurusana village, Haryana, and the findings of an investigation into this matter.
Recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that 66 votes were registered at a house in Gurusana village, Haryana. Bhaskar’s team went to check this claim and found that the house is quite large, covering about one acre, and is home to around 200 family members.
The family living in this house includes three generations, such as grandparents, parents, and children. Umresh Chaudhary from the family confirmed that all of them live together under one roof, and it is indeed possible to have 66 votes registered at this address due to the size of the family.
Authorities from the Gurusana village BDPO mentioned that with the creation of new house numbers, some families still have their votes linked to the old numbers. They assured that the vote count would change once the information is updated. The old house number 150 has now been changed to 501.
Women voters from the village shared that they vote only using their Voter ID and Aadhar cards. Some voters in Sonipat noticed their names appeared with photos of foreign models and stated that this was likely a mistake. One voter noted that their incorrect photo on the voter card from five years ago has since been corrected.
The investigation clarified that the house with 66 votes is indeed a large family home with about 200 residents. The local administration is set to make updates to the voter list following the change in house numbers.
