Details
Delhi Airport currently has three terminals—T2 and T3 are located close to each other, while T1 is a few kilometers away. This distance often causes delays and inconvenience for travelers who need to switch terminals. To solve this issue, a plan has been announced to build a new metro station connecting these terminals.
DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar shared that the Golden Line, which currently ends at Aerocity, will soon be extended up to T1. With this extension, passengers will be able to travel directly from T1 to Aerocity via metro.
Aerocity already has the Airport Metro Line, and now a second integrated station will be built there for the Golden Line. This means travelers can take the metro from T1 to Aerocity and then quickly switch to the Airport Line for T2 and T3. DIAL and DMRC will jointly execute this project to ensure smoother movement and reduced congestion at the airport.
Impact on Public or What It Means
Once this link is ready, terminal transfers will become significantly faster, reducing passenger stress and saving valuable time. This will also help distribute crowd movement more efficiently and make airport travel more comfortable and hassle-free.
Table: Key Benefits of the New Metro Link
| Point | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Better Connectivity | Fast and easy travel between T1 and T3 |
| Time Saving | Shorter terminal transfer duration |
| Convenience | Integrated station for smooth switching |
