An Indigo flight flying from Patna to Ranchi had a close call on Monday after colliding mid-air with a vulture at an altitude of 4,000 feet. The incident occurred when the aircraft, carrying 166 passengers, was en route to Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport.
The bird strike caused significant turbulence and triggered a full emergency protocol. The pilots initiated seven rounds of precautionary circles before executing a safe emergency landing at Ranchi.

The bird strike caused a sudden jolt and alarmed everyone on board. According to airport officials, the aircraft was brought down safely around 1:30 PM. Although the aircraft sustained minor technical damage, no passengers were harmed.
The incident led to the cancellation of the onward leg of the journey to Kolkata, affecting around 70 connecting passengers. These passengers were later rerouted via other flights.
