Starting June 2025, several leading banks including HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and American Express will implement significant changes to their credit card benefits and fee structures. These updates cover a wide range of features such as airport lounge access, cashback rewards, minimum amount due, fuel rewards, and utility transactions.
Cardholders are advised to carefully review the revised terms to avoid losing out on benefits or incurring unexpected charges.
HDFC Bank Credit Cards – Lounge Access via Vouchers from June 10
For holders of the Tata Neu Infinity and Tata Neu Plus credit cards, airport lounge access will no longer be available via direct card swipes starting June 10, 2025. Instead, HDFC Bank will provide lounge access vouchers based on quarterly spending milestones. Only customers who meet specific minimum spending thresholds every quarter will be eligible for these vouchers.
Kotak Mahindra Bank – Charges Restructured from June 1
Beginning June 1, 2025, Kotak Mahindra Bank will revise:
-
Fees for failed standing instructions
-
Charges for utility, wallet loading, skill-based gaming, fuel, and education transactions
-
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) charges
-
Minimum Amount Due (MAD) calculation method
These changes will impact both spending and repayment terms for cardholders.
Axis Bank – Rewards Restructuring and Lounge Access Removal from June 20
Effective June 20, 2025, Axis Bank will roll out new policies for two of its popular cards:
-
Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card:
-
Increased cashback for Myntra purchases
-
Removal of complimentary airport lounge access
-
-
REWARDS Credit Card:
-
New spend exclusions that limit what qualifies for reward points
-
Tougher criteria for annual fee waivers, likely requiring higher annual spends
-
American Express Gold Charge Card – No Reward Points on Fuel from June 12
From June 12, 2025, American Express Gold Charge Card users will no longer earn Membership Rewards® points on fuel purchases, including petrol, diesel, and CNG from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). This could significantly reduce the value proposition for cardholders who regularly use their Amex cards for fuel transactions.
