Residents of East Delhi can expect relief from the shortage of buses, as DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) has begun operating electric buses from Ghazipur and East Vinod Nagar depots after completing electrification work at these sites.
Under the Delhi Government’s “DTC Electric Bus Scheme”, new applications for electric buses were invited for Ghazipur, East Vinod Nagar, and Kushak Nala depots. DTC completed the necessary preparations last year, including electrification and setting up of charging stations.

Depots Now Fully Equipped with Charging Infrastructure
With electrification completed, 9-meter-long electric buses have now been allotted to the newly prepared depots. These buses are part of a broader effort to improve public transportation access and reduce pollution levels in East Delhi.
In recent days, electric bus operations have officially commenced from both East Vinod Nagar and Ghazipur depots.
