Patna Metro Update: Excitement is building among the residents of Patna as the long-awaited Patna Metro project nears completion. With construction moving ahead rapidly, the Bihar government has now released the updated route chart for the first phase of the metro, along with new features that promise a modern and comfortable experience for daily commuters.

🛤️ New Route Chart for Patna Metro Phase-1

According to the latest update, the North-South Corridor of Patna Metro will run from Malahi Pakri to ISBT, covering a total distance of 14.45 kilometers.

Here are the major highlights of the newly announced route:

  • The first stretch will have 6.63 km elevated track, while the remaining will be underground.

  • Major stations include:

    • Malahi Pakri

    • Khemnichak

    • Bhoothnath

    • Zero Mile

    • ISBT

  • In the coming phases, two additional stations will be added between Malahi Pakri and Patna University.

 

Apart from this, a second corridor, Danapur to Khemnichak via Nehru Path, will cover a distance of 17.93 kilometers.

These corridors aim to decongest the city traffic and improve rapid transit connectivity for thousands of daily travelers.

✈️ Future Expansion: Patna Airport to Bihta Airport Connection

A major new plan under the metro expansion includes connecting Patna Airport with Bihta Airport. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this stretch is being prepared and is expected to be finalized soon. This will significantly enhance air travel connectivity in the region.

🚇 Trial Run and Expected Launch

The government has directed the metro authorities to complete all work before August 15, 2025, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to inaugurate the Patna Metro on Independence Day.

Trial runs on the first corridor are expected to begin soon.
