Trial Runs Already Underway as Final Inspections Continue on 17 km Stretch
Trial operations between Shaheed Nagar and Modipuram have already been taking place. Goyal emphasized the urgency of speeding up the final tasks to ensure the service becomes operational soon after June 15. The remaining segment is in the final phase of its finishing work, and teams from the construction agency and NCRTC are working together to ensure safety and quality standards.
The MD also held review meetings with senior officials and engineers at the site to assess the progress on the 17-kilometer stretch, including inspection of station infrastructure, track alignment, and power systems.
Final Touches on Modipuram Terminal in Progress as NCRTC Eyes Smooth Launch
Officials confirmed that all technical and structural inspections are underway at the Modipuram terminal and other upcoming stations. Once the final quality checks are cleared, full-fledged operations of Namo Bharat trains between Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram will begin—marking a major step forward in India’s regional rapid transit ambitions.
This extension will offer a seamless, high-speed commute across one of the most densely populated transit corridors, aiming to decongest urban transport, boost regional mobility, and enhance infrastructure-led development in Western Uttar Pradesh.
