Commuters travelling from Rajghat to ISBT should brace for delays as repair work on the Hanuman Setu begins this week. The bridge, a crucial link along Ring Road, will undergo maintenance for 20 days starting May 23, disrupting traffic until June 11, according to officials from the Public Works Department (PWD).
Due to the nature of the repair, traffic congestion is expected on surrounding roads, and the Delhi Traffic Police has advised motorists to use alternative routes during this period.
Key Disruptions and Diversions
The ongoing maintenance will impact the route between Rajghat and ISBT, particularly for vehicles moving towards ISBT. These vehicles will be diverted via Shanti Van cut, Shanti Van outer Ring Road, and other alternative routes.
As part of the diversion plan, traffic will be rerouted via Geeta Colony flyover cut, Yamuna bridge behind Red Fort, and other internal roads.

According to traffic officials, vehicles coming from Noida, Akshardham, or Sarai Kale Khan towards ISBT are advised to take a detour via Geeta Colony, Old Iron Bridge, Shastri Park Chowk, and then proceed to ISBT.
A senior traffic officer stated, “We urge commuters to plan their journeys in advance and use GPS navigation apps to avoid congestion. We are coordinating closely with the PWD to ensure minimum inconvenience.”
