SIAM’s April Auto Sales Report 📊
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released its report on auto sales for April 2025. This report gives us a clear picture of how different segments in the Indian auto market are performing.
Passenger Vehicle Sales Show Growth 🚗
In April, the sales of passenger vehicles reached 3,48,847 units, marking a growth of 3.9%. This is the highest number of sales recorded for passenger vehicles so far. However, it’s important to note that this figure does not include data from brands like BMW, Mercedes, JLR, Tata Motors, and Volvo Auto.
Two-Wheeler Segment Faces Decline 🏍️
On the other hand, the two-wheeler segment has seen a significant decline, with total sales dropping by 16.7% to 14,58,784 units. Within this segment, motorcycles have been particularly affected, facing a huge drop compared to scooters.
Three-Wheeler Sales Slightly Down 🛺
Sales of three-wheelers also took a hit, with 49,441 units sold, reflecting a slight decline of 0.7%.
Total Production Numbers 📈
Overall, the total production of passenger vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, and quadricycles stood at 23,18,882 units in April.
New Regulations and Future Expectations 🔧
With the new OBD 2 Stage-2 rule and E-20 fuel compliance coming into effect this month, there is hope for improvement in the auto market in the coming months, according to SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon.
