India Pahalgam Terror Attack Big Terror Attack In India Confirmed. Dozens Of People Lost Life In Pahalgam.

A peaceful day turned into horror in Pahalgam, one of South Kashmir’s most loved tourist spots, when a group of armed terrorists disguised in police uniforms opened fire on a group of tourists around 3 PM on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses say the attackers came down the hills of Baisaran Valley—often called “Mini Switzerland” because of its scenic green meadows—and fired over 50 rounds at tourists enjoying horse rides and snacks.

Initial reports suggest that more than 28 people may have lost their lives, though the exact number is still being confirmed. So far, one death and ten injuries have been officially reported. Tragically, it is being said that the attackers asked names before shooting, opening fire as soon as they heard Hindu names.

Attack in Broad Daylight — Dressed as Cops

What shocked many is that the terrorists were dressed as police officers, making it impossible for tourists and locals to suspect anything. This chilling tactic allowed them to get close to the group before unleashing violence.

Victims were reportedly enjoying Maggi noodles and sightseeing when the attack began. Among the injured are tourists from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and other states. A few names released so far include:

  • Vino Bhatt (Gujarat)

  • S. Balchandru (Maharashtra)

  • Abhijavan Rao & Abhijavam Rao (Karnataka)

  • Sahasi Kumari (Odisha)

Terror Group TRF Claims Responsibility

The TRF (The Resistance Front)—a Lashkar-e-Taiba-backed outfit—has claimed responsibility. This group has a history of targeting civilians, especially non-Kashmiris, in recent years.

Security forces have cordoned off the area, and helicopters are being used in an intensive search operation for the attackers.

Centre Swings into Action

Home Minister Amit Shah, after briefing Prime Minister Narendra Modi—currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia—called for an emergency meeting and is now en route to Srinagar. The NIA (National Investigation Agency) is also expected to visit Pahalgam on Wednesday.

PM Modi condemned the incident in strong words, posting on X (formerly Twitter):

“The perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice. Their evil intentions will never succeed.”

Timing Raises Questions

This deadly attack comes just days before expected announcements about J&K Assembly elections, and coincides with the ongoing India visit of US Vice President JD Vance. The timing has raised serious concerns about a larger agenda behind the attack.

This tragedy has sent shockwaves across the nation, reminding us of the ongoing challenges of ensuring security in even the most serene corners of India. The lush beauty of Pahalgam was always a symbol of peace—but Tuesday’s events have left it stained with grief.
