Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized the importance of infrastructure development for India. He stated that the goal is to boost highway construction speed to 100 kilometers per day. This ambitious target aims to transform India’s road network significantly.

The Minister assured that there is no shortage of funds for highway projects. The Ministry plans to construct a total of 25,000 kilometers of four-lane highways in the upcoming years, which will greatly enhance connectivity across the nation.

New Toll Policy Coming Soon 🚦

In addition to highway development, Gadkari announced that a new toll policy is expected to be launched in the next 15 days. This policy will introduce a satellite-based toll system, allowing vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping. The toll fee will be automatically deducted as the vehicle approaches, using satellite technology.

Fastag Upgrade 🚙💨

This new system will be more efficient than the current Fastag system, as it will capture images of vehicles and deduct toll taxes seamlessly. This innovation aims to reduce congestion at toll plazas and make travel smoother for everyone.
