On the first day of April, major auto companies in India shared their sales figures for March. This includes well-known brands like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai India, and Toyota Kirloskar. While Maruti, Hyundai, and Toyota provided monthly sales data, Tata Motors only shared quarterly sales figures.
Maruti Suzuki Sales Rise π
Maruti Suzuki India saw a 3% increase in total vehicle sales, reaching 1,92,984 units in March. Last year, they sold 1,87,196 vehicles in the same month. The company reported that they delivered 1,50,743 passenger vehicles to dealers last month, slightly down from 1,52,718 vehicles sold last year. Notably, sales of popular multipurpose vehicles like Grand Vitara and Brezza rose to 61,097 units compared to 58,436 units in March last year.
Hyundai’s Strong Performance πͺ
Hyundai India sold 67,320 units in March, marking a 2.6% growth compared to the previous year. The company has achieved impressive sales in the SUV segment, contributing 68.5% to total sales. The Hyundai Creta has become the number-one SUV, with a total of 1.5 million units sold to date.
Toyota’s Record Sales π
Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported its highest sales for FY 2024-25, with a total of 3,37,148 units sold, a 28% increase from last year. In March alone, Toyota sold 30,043 vehicles, up 11% from 27,180 vehicles in March 2024.
Tata Motors Quarterly Sales π
Tata Motors shared its quarterly sales figures, reporting a total of 252,642 units sold in the fourth quarter of FY25. However, their passenger vehicle sales saw a decline of 6% year-on-year, with March sales dropping slightly from 90,822 to 90,500 units.
