Juvenile Rules 🚸
One important change is about juveniles driving. If a juvenile causes an accident while driving, the fine has increased to ₹25,000. They can also face up to 3 years in jail and lose their vehicle registration for one year. Additionally, their driving license can be suspended until they turn 25 years old.
New Penalties for Common Violations 🚦
Here are some new penalties for common traffic violations:
- Riding without a helmet: Fine of ₹1,000 and license suspension for 3 months (previously ₹100).
- Not wearing a seatbelt: Fine of ₹1,000 (previously ₹100).
- Using a mobile phone while driving: Fine of ₹5,000.
- Driving without a license or insurance: Up to ₹5,000 fine, 3 months in jail or community service.
- Triple riding on two-wheelers: Fine of ₹1,000 (previously ₹100).
- Driving without a pollution certificate: Fine of ₹10,000 (previously ₹1,000).
- Dangerous driving: Fine of ₹5,000 (previously ₹500).
- Not giving way to emergency vehicles: Fine of ₹10,000 (previously ₹1,000).
- Overloading: Fine of ₹20,000 (previously ₹2,000).
- Jumping a signal: Fine of ₹5,000 (previously ₹500).
