Service Road Expansion in Greater Noida
The service road running from Charmurti in Greater Noida West to Sirsa Golchakkar in Greater Noida will be widened from seven meters to ten and a half meters. This upgrade will convert the existing two-lane service road into a three-lane road, benefiting millions of residents from nearby villages as well as those living in the sectors.
Addressing Traffic Pressure
With the increasing traffic on this route, especially with the upcoming Noida International Airport set to open in April, the width of Tilapata Golchakkar will also be expanded. Currently, a 130-meter wide road stretches for 25 kilometers from Charmurti to Sirsa Golchakkar, but it is facing heavy traffic congestion. The construction of a dedicated bus corridor is underway to manage this traffic better.
Future Planning
In line with the approved Master Plan 2041 for Greater Noida, this expansion aims to accommodate the projected population growth and industrial development in Greater Noida Phase-Two. A detailed action plan has been created to assess the situation over the next 25 years.
Improving Road Safety
To enhance safety for night-time drivers, reflector lights will be installed along the roadside and at turning points. Additionally, signboards will be placed at intersections to guide drivers.
Reducing Traffic Jams
The expansion of the service road is expected to reduce congestion on the main road. This will allow vehicles to move more freely, thereby saving time for drivers. The enhanced road will provide easier access to Noida International Airport for residents of nearby villages and sectors.
The CEO of Greater Noida Authority stated that the service road’s width will increase, and further guidelines have been issued to the officers involved in this project.
