District Town Planner Cracks Down On Illegal Commercial Activities In Residential Areas, Initiating Enforcement Against 150 Properties In Dlf Phase Two.

District Municipal Planner Takes Action Against Illegal Business Activities

The District Municipal Planner is intensifying efforts to tackle illegal business activities operating from residential houses and plots. Recently, inspections were carried out in DLF Phase Two, where several unauthorized businesses were identified.

In the morning, officials examined areas with unauthorized constructions, particularly in the Central Arcade Market, where a number of hawkers were found operating illegally. Following this, inspections continued in residential plots along the southern route, where some shops had resumed operations despite earlier warnings.

Notice Issued to 150 Houses

Inspection teams reviewed several roads, including Boganwilia Marg, Dakshin Marg, Akashnim Marg, and others in blocks KL, K, J, and P. During these inspections, numerous houses engaging in illegal construction or business activities were identified, leading to notices being issued to 150 properties.

DTPE Amit Madholia reported that information was gathered regarding the unauthorized shops in the Central Arcade Market and nearby residential plots. Plot owners have been notified, and show cause notices have been issued. There are plans to file FIRs against those violating regulations. Additionally, a new plan to address these issues has been submitted for approval, with potential enforcement actions expected in February.

Persistent Encroachment Issues in Sadar Bazar

Despite efforts over the past five years, Sadar Bazar continues to struggle with encroachment issues. Recently, municipal officials promised to remove illegal encroachments and restrict vehicle entry into the market, but these measures have not yielded significant results. Shopkeepers continue to display goods outside their shops, obstructing pathways and reducing the market’s once spacious streets to just a fraction of their original width.

The presence of various vehicles, including auto-rickshaws and cars, adds to the congestion, making it difficult for customers to navigate the market. In 2021, there was a brief attempt to beautify Sadar Bazar as part of a challenge, but the initiative did not progress, and the market remains disorganized.
