Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: Voting Day Update

Voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 is happening today, 5 February. All 70 assembly seats in the capital will be open for voting from 7 am to 6:30 pm.

To facilitate the voting process, the Delhi government has announced a public holiday. Votes will be counted on 8 February. Recently, 618 people were arrested for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Traffic Advisory for Election Day

In preparation for the elections, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory. Traffic will be diverted and closed from Kanjhawala Chowk to Ghevra village on 4 and 5 February. The closure will be in effect from 7 am to 7 pm on 4 February and from 5 am to 6 pm on 5 February.

According to the traffic police, if you’re traveling from Rohtak Road to Ghevra Mor, please use the outer ring road. For those going from Kanjhawala Road to Kanjhala Chowk, it’s advised to take the roads through Karala and Nizampur villages.

Public Holiday Details

A public holiday has been declared in the capital on voting day. All government offices, schools, colleges, and major markets will remain closed, encouraging maximum participation in the democratic process.

Additionally, metro services will begin at 4 am, and DTC buses will start operating from 6 am to aid voters in reaching polling stations.
