Old Gurugram Metro Construction Begins

The construction of the Old Gurugram Metro is set to start soon, and along with this, the width of roads covering the 332 km metro route will be increased. This initiative comes from a survey conducted by Betonics Architecture and Urbanism Private Limited, which was shared with Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) and Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC).

Road Widening Plans

The survey indicates that various roads need widening, including 182.27 km under Gurugram Municipal Corporation, 80.19 km under GMDA, 17.07 km under HSIIDC, 23.34 km under NHAI, and 11.57 km under PWD B&R. Additionally, 16.69 km of roads will be required to connect the metro stations to the dam or Eco trail, along with 3.40 km in builder areas. Currently, 47% of GMDA roads are between 45 to 60 meters wide, while 43% are between 24 to 30 meters, highlighting the need for more space.
