Recently, for the first time since Donald Trump became President, the US has begun returning Indian illegal migrants via aircraft. This topic was also part of the discussions between Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reports indicate that the Trump administration is enlisting military support to further its immigration agenda. Jaishankar expressed concerns about illegal activities, stating that it tarnishes the reputation of India. He emphasized that if it is confirmed that Indian citizens are living illegally in the US, India is prepared to facilitate their return in a lawful manner. According to reports, between October 2023 and September 2024, the US is expected to send back over 1,100 illegal migrants to India.
