Good News for Mahakumbh Devotees
Devotees planning to visit the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela will be pleased to hear that a direct bus service from Gurugram to Prayagraj is set to begin this Saturday. This new bus service will allow locals to travel directly to the Mahakumbh Mela by road.
The bus service will kick off on February 1, with a simple class bus departing from the Gurugram bus stand at 6 PM, arriving in Prayagraj by 5 AM the next day. This arrangement is particularly convenient for those wishing to take a holy dip in the confluence, as the return bus will leave Prayagraj for Gurugram at 6 PM the same day.
The one-way fare from Gurugram to Prayagraj is fixed at Rs 955. Passengers can book their tickets offline at the traffic branch located within the bus station. As demand rises, the number of buses will be increased to accommodate more passengers.
Due to the high number of visitors from Gurugram wanting to participate in the Mahakumbh, train and flight options are currently full, making this bus service a much-needed alternative.
Householder Scheme Registration Camps
In another important update, a review of the Every Householder Scheme was conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner Hitesh Kumar Meena. The meeting focused on the eligibility and registration process for this scheme.
It was announced that registration camps will be set up at 116 locations across the district. The scheme is designed for individuals holding Antyodaya Ann Yojana (AAY) and below poverty line (BPL) ration cards. Eligible women heads of registered families will be able to obtain an LPG cylinder for just Rs 500, with the government covering the additional cost through a subsidy.
To register, eligible women must provide their family identity card (PPP), the mobile number associated with it, and their bank account passbook along with other necessary documents. A total of 116 CSC assistants have been appointed in the district to assist with the registration process.
