Modern Trains And Enhanced Safety Measures Announced In Railway Budget, Paving Way For Operational Improvements Across Key Routes In India.

In the recent general budget, there is a strong focus on modernizing Indian Railways with the introduction of advanced train services like Vande Bharat Sleeper, Vande Metro, and Bullet Trains. These initiatives will pave the way for the operation of Vande Bharat trains on routes connecting Tatanagar to Varanasi and Bilaspur.

Enhanced Safety Measures

To improve safety, the budget has allocated funds for an automatic train protection system known as Kavach. This system aims to prevent railway accidents, particularly on the busy Howrah-Mumbai rail route. The budget also emphasizes upgrading railway infrastructure, including installing additional equipment and laying new tracks to ensure safe operations.

Infrastructure Development

Plans are in place for an auto signal system from Tata to Kharagpur, and changes in train operations within Chakradharpur division. Significant funding has been allocated for expanding the fourth line in this division, which will facilitate better passenger train operations. Officials from Chakradharpur Railway Division have noted that the budget has increased allocations for yard expansion, station development, passenger facilities, and safety systems.

Investment in Southeast Zone

The southeast zone, including both Chakradharpur and Ranchi divisions in Jharkhand, is expected to receive over 5000 crores for development projects. The budget also highlights the need for surveys of new rail routes and the construction of foot overbridges and subways.

Future Prospects

Passengers from Tatanagar and Chakradharpur divisions are hopeful about the budget’s provisions. Key projects such as the doubling of the Kandra-Nakum railroad and the Ilu-Silli Line, along with the Tata-Badampahar rail route, are set to commence soon. The budget also mentions plans to upgrade the old tracks to enhance train speeds.

Comprehensive Safety Upgrades

To further prevent accidents, Railways will begin installing an armor system across all tracks. Additionally, there are plans to increase the number of Amrit Bharat stations in the Chakradharpur division, enhancing passenger facilities along the busy Howrah-Mumbai route.

Experts believe that while the budget has allocated funds for safe operations and station development in the Chakradharpur division and the Howrah-Mumbai railroad, railway officials will provide more detailed information once the official budget document is released.
