Weather Update for February
The month of February has brought cold weather across various regions of India. Many areas have experienced rain and even snowfall, which has contributed to a chill in the air. In Delhi-NCR and nearby regions, morning fog has significantly affected traffic.
Weather Forecast
The Meteorological Department indicates that the cold weather will persist for a few more days. A fresh western disturbance is expected to impact northwest India starting from February 3. This will lead to rain and snowfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh will also see deteriorating weather from February 3 to 5, with light to moderate rainfall expected in various areas. The India Meteorological Department has issued alerts in anticipation of these changes.
In New Delhi, the cold weather is making a comeback. Dense fog has been prevalent in the mornings, particularly in areas like Dhaula Kuan, causing significant traffic issues. On Sunday, moderate to dense fog is forecasted, with maximum temperatures around 24°C and minimum temperatures around 9°C. A bit of sunlight in the afternoon is expected to provide some relief. Fog is also likely to persist in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam for the next 48 hours. The minimum temperature in Rayalaseema is expected to be 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal over the next three days. However, dry weather is anticipated in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam for the following week.
