On Wednesday, a special beating retreat ceremony will take place at Vijay Chowk as part of the Republic Day celebrations. To ensure smooth traffic flow, the traffic police have made extensive arrangements. They have requested that people adhere to traffic rules and avoid unnecessary travel towards Vijay Chowk during the event.

Traffic Restrictions

From 2 PM to 9:30 PM, vehicle movement at Vijay Chowk will be restricted. However, metro services will operate normally around the area. There will also be traffic adjustments due to rehearsals on Tuesday. According to the traffic police, several routes will be closed during the ceremony. These include:

– Rafi Marg from Sunhari Mosque to Krishi Bhavan
– Raisina Road from Krishi Bhawan to Vijay Chowk

Alternative Routes for Drivers

Drivers can use alternative routes during this time, including:

For those coming to view the decorations at Vijay Chowk, parking will be available near Rafi Marg and C-Hexagon after 7 PM.

Bus Route Changes

Several bus routes will be altered due to the ceremony:

– Buses from Shanti Path to Central Secretariat will take Vinay Marg, Sardar Patel Marg, and Mujibur Rahman Road.
– Buses heading to Central Secretariat will end their journey on the garden route and return via Kalibari Marg, Mandir Marg, and Shankar Road.
– Buses going to Connaught Place will use Mandir Marg, Kalibari Marg, GPO, Baba Kharag Singh Marg, and return via Bhagat Singh Marg and Peshwa Road.
– Buses from South Delhi to Connaught Place and Central Secretariat will travel via Aurobindo Chowk, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, and Simon Bollywood Road.
