The Greater Noida Authority’s Efforts to Construct a Bypass Road
The Greater Noida Authority is actively working to build a bypass road aimed at reducing the heavy traffic jams often experienced in Tilapata on the Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera (DSC) Road. This initiative will involve acquiring land from farmers, but only with their consent. The proposed road will stretch approximately 2300 meters in length and 60 meters in width. Notably, the layout has been modified over a 250-meter section due to some houses located in the path of the road.
Survey and Planning Details
Following a survey, the Central Road Research Organization (CRRI) has provided a detailed report to the Greater Noida Authority. The bypass road will connect the proposed Tilapata bypass road to Greater Noida and Greater Noida West. It will start from the Dadri bypass near Rupbas village and pass through Kalan, Shyorjpur, and Kailashpur, eventually reaching Khodna.
Benefits of the Bypass Road
Once completed, this project is expected to significantly ease traffic flow between Dadri town, GT Road, Lal Kuan, and surrounding areas. Residents of Greater Noida West will also benefit from reduced congestion. The DSC Road currently faces overwhelming traffic due to heavy vehicles moving to and from the international container depot, contributing to the persistent jams in the area.
Current Status of the Project
AK Singh, the General Manager of Projects at the Authority, stated that efforts to advance the construction of the Tilapata bypass road are in full swing. The CRRI report indicates challenges in a 250-meter segment of the road where some houses exist. To address this, adjustments to the layout will be made, and vacant land adjacent to the road will be acquired with the farmers’ agreement. Negotiations with 38 farmers are currently underway.
Prerna Singh, the Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Noida Authority, mentioned that the process has moved forward following the CRRI survey. She emphasized that the project aims to alleviate the ongoing traffic issues in the area. The land acquisition from farmers will proceed based on their consent, and once the bypass road is built, it will help resolve the traffic congestion problems faced by local residents.
