76th Republic Day 2025 Traffic Advisory
India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025. To manage the traffic effectively during this grand event, the Delhi Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory. The Republic Day celebrations will kick off with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying tribute at the National War Memorial at 9:30 am. Given the importance of this occasion, special arrangements have been made to ensure smooth movement for the parade starting from Vijay Chowk at 10:30 am.
In light of the celebrations, traffic restrictions have been implemented from January 25 at 9 pm. Entry into certain areas of Delhi will be restricted, and only essential vehicles will be allowed. Specifically, traffic will be stopped at C-hexagon from 9:15 pm on January 25, and vehicles will not be allowed on the duty path from Vijay Chowk to India Gate from 5 pm on January 25 until the conclusion of the parade. This means that passengers should avoid these regions to prevent any inconvenience.
The parade route will see various traffic diversions, affecting roads leading to the parade route from Vijay Chowk to the Red Fort. Additionally, traffic restrictions will also apply on Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Subhash Marg starting from 10:30 am on January 26. To avoid delays, passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and consider extra time for journeys between North Delhi and New Delhi or Old Delhi railway stations.
It’s worth noting that metro services will continue to operate without disruption during the Republic Day celebrations, providing an alternative for commuters.
