    • Large numbers of vehicle owners have applied to retrieve their seized vehicles.
    • Pending applications are delaying the scrapping process.

    • Over 3,000 vehicles were seized in the last month.
    • 485 owners applied to reclaim their vehicles, but only 100 applications have been resolved.
  3. LG’s Directive on Vintage Vehicles:
    • Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) V.K. Saxena has instructed authorities not to seize or scrap vintage vehicles.
    • Municipal bodies, NDMC, and the Transport Department were asked to avoid action against vintage vehicles.
    • This decision follows a request by the Heritage Motoring Club of India.
  4. Restrictions on Vehicle Use:
    • Diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years are prohibited in Delhi-NCR to combat pollution.
