A unified QR-ticketing system for Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro has been officially launched, allowing passengers to travel on both networks with a single QR ticket. This system was inaugurated on Monday and aims to simplify commutes and save time for travelers.
In August, an agreement was signed between the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to enable this integration. The system was officially launched by NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goyal and DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar, who booked tickets for both services via their respective mobile apps.
This initiative is expected to enhance convenience for passengers and promote public transportation in the Delhi-NCR region. Passengers can now:
- Book Delhi Metro QR tickets through the RRTS Connect app.
- Book Namo Bharat QR tickets through the DMRC Momentum 2.0 app.
Current and Future Connections
- Namo Bharat Services: Currently operational between Sahibabad and Meerut South.
- Connectivity Updates:
- The New Bus Stand Metro Station in Ghaziabad is now connected to the Namo Bharat network.
- Trials are underway for connectivity between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar, where the system will integrate Namo Bharat with Metro stations like Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar.
This integration will reduce queues at stations and save time, making commutes smoother.
Collaboration with IRCTC
NCRTC has also partnered with IRCTC to allow passengers to book Namo Bharat train tickets along with Indian Railways tickets via the IRCTC platform. This integration will be particularly beneficial at stations like Anand Vihar, where Namo Bharat will connect with the railway station.
