The Central Government has introduced a new rule mandating all retiring employees to submit their Pension Form 6A online. This rule, effective from November 6, 2024, applies to employees retiring from central government offices.
Key Changes:
- Online Submission Only:
- Pension Form 6A can now only be submitted via the Bhavishya or e-HRMS 2.0 portal.
- Paper-based applications will no longer be accepted.
- Integrated Pension Form:
- The new Form 6A combines multiple earlier forms like Form 6, 8, 4, 3A, Format 1, Format 9, FMA, and Zero Option Form.
- This integration is part of amendments made to the CCS Pension Rules, 2021 (Rules 53, 57, 58, 59, and 60).
- Simplified Process:
- The Bhavishya Portal, developed by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, aims to streamline the process.
- Employees will receive their pending payments and Pension Payment Order (PPO) on the day of their retirement.
Why This Change?
This initiative is part of the government’s effort to digitize processes and make retirement procedures more efficient and transparent.
Training for New System:
- Training programs will be conducted for office heads and nodal officers to familiarize them with the new system.
- Detailed instructions will be shared with all ministries and departments to ensure smooth implementation.
Notification Details:
- The change was notified on November 4, 2024, and the system has been live since November 6, 2024.
- Employees retiring after this date must follow the new online procedure.
