Details of the Subsidy
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha and Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM Yojana), farmers can choose solar pumps ranging from 2 HP to 10 HP based on their irrigation requirements. For instance, a 2 HP DC surface pump priced at ₹1,71,716 will cost farmers only ₹1,08,030 after the subsidy. Similarly, a 3 HP DC submersible pump will cost ₹1,39,633 after a subsidy of ₹88,088.
Other Available Subsidies
Additional subsidies are available for larger pumps, with a 10 HP AC submersible pump costing around ₹2,66,456 after a subsidy of ₹2,86,164. Interested farmers are required to pay a token fee of ₹5,000 to apply.
How to Apply
Farmers can register for the scheme by visiting the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department’s official website at www.agriculture.up.gov.in. They need to follow the “Subsidized Solar Pump Booking” link for online applications. Registration confirmations will be sent via SMS by June 25, 2024.
