On Sunday, a significant temperature variation was recorded in Delhi, with a difference of nine degrees Celsius between the Ridge Weather Center and Pitampura, just 13 kilometers apart. Despite the first ten days of November passing, Delhi has yet to experience the arrival of winter. The overall October temperature was also higher than usual.
Mild Fog Expected
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi may witness mild fog during early mornings over the next few days. Clear skies and sunny days are expected, with visibility dropping below 1,000 meters in some areas, including Safdarjung and Palam weather stations, on Sunday.
Urban Heat Effect in Delhi
Different factors contribute to daytime warmth, but nighttime temperatures usually drop as heat dissipates. However, in urban areas like Delhi, concrete structures trap heat, causing the “urban heat effect.” This results in warmer night temperatures, especially in areas with high concrete construction.
