Bhubaneswar/Kolkata – A low-pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression and is advancing towards the eastern coast of India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that this system is likely to evolve into a severe cyclonic storm, which may bring widespread destruction to Odisha and West Bengal, with potential impact on Andhra Pradesh as well.

Cyclone Alert and Preparations

In response to the imminent threat, the Indian Coast Guard has been placed on high alert to manage any emergency situations. The authorities are closely monitoring the development of the cyclone, which is expected to intensify by October 23, 2024, and is likely to make landfall near Puri, Odisha, and the West Bengal coast by the morning of October 25.

Wind Speed and Impact
