The upcoming Noida International Airport will have enhanced connectivity with the Namo Bharat Rail Corridor, which will now be constructed in a single phase instead of two. This decision was approved during the 82nd board meeting chaired by Yamuna Authority Chairman Anil Sagar. The project aims to connect the airport seamlessly with the region, meeting future transport demands.
Cost Distribution
The construction cost for the project will be shared between the Central Government, the Uttar Pradesh Government, and NCRTC, with each covering 20% of the cost, while the remaining 60% will be borne by NCRTC. If NCRTC is unable to cover its share, the Greater Noida Authority, Yamuna Authority, and Noida International Airport Company will collectively manage the remaining expenses.
The proposal for the Namo Bharat Rail Corridor has already been sent to the Central Government for approval.
High-Speed Rapid Rail and Metro Connectivity
The Namo Bharat Rail Corridor will feature high-speed rapid rail services for Noida Airport and cater to the city’s growing transport needs. Alongside this, a 14 km Light Rail Transit (LRT) will run between Noida Airport and Film City, further enhancing connectivity.
Additionally, a 72 km corridor from Ghaziabad to Noida Airport will be built in one phase, ensuring fast and efficient travel for commuters.
Expansion of Aqua Metro Line
The project will also incorporate the 10 km Aqua Metro corridor from Noida Sector 51 to Knowledge Park 5 in Greater Noida West. This will ensure smooth transport access for residents and businesses in the area.
Underground Track at Noida Airport
The Namo Bharat Rail will operate on an underground track at Noida Airport, connecting all current and future terminals. This underground rail will provide quick and efficient transport solutions for passengers traveling to and from the airport.
Multimodal Connectivity Hub
The airport will become a hub for multiple modes of transport. High-speed rail, metro services, regular rail, and the LRT will all converge at the Ground Transport Centre (GTC) at Noida Airport, ensuring seamless connectivity.
Institutional Land Allotment via Interview
In other developments, institutional land for hospitals, nursing homes, and social organizations (like schools, yoga, and meditation centers) will be allotted through interviews, making the process more streamlined and transparent.
Apparel Park Renamed
The Apparel Park in Yamuna Authority’s Sector 29 has been renamed NAC Apparel YIEDA Park. Thirteen allottees of the park have been given time until December 31 to finalize their lease agreements, preventing the cancellation of their plots.
HUDCO Loan of ₹30,529 Crore Secured
To fund land acquisition and project construction, the Yamuna Authority has secured a loan of ₹30,529 crore from HUDCO over the next five years. This includes:
- ₹6,326 crore for metro projects
- ₹641 crore for the LRT
- ₹20,637 crore for high-speed rail
- ₹1,705 crore for the logistics park
- ₹1,220 crore for the heritage city project
Changes in Plot Allotment Rules
The board has updated the payment structure for non-residential land allotments. Previously, a 20% allocation payment was required; now, 30% of the allocation amount must be paid upfront, while the remaining 60% will be payable in instalments over two years.
