Farenda Jpg Up Creating New Districts With Name Farenda. Gorakhpur And Maharajganj Will Be Split Form 76Th Admin Area.

The state of Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for the creation of a new district named Farenda. This proposed district will be formed by merging certain tehsils (administrative divisions) from Gorakhpur and Maharajganj districts. There is also a possibility that the new district could be named Veer Bahadur Singh District, in honor of the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Strategic Importance of Farenda

Currently known as Anandnagar town in Maharajganj district, Farenda is situated close to the Nepal border, enhancing its strategic and economic significance. The proximity to an international border adds potential for trade and security considerations. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, efforts are being made to accelerate the development of this region by proposing it as a new district.

Administrative Proceedings

The Revenue Commissioner has requested reports from the District Magistrates of Maharajganj and Gorakhpur, as well as the Divisional Commissioner of Gorakhpur. These reports will assess the feasibility and implications of forming the new district. After reviewing the reports and ensuring positive outcomes, the proposal will be presented to the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet for consideration.

Concerns from Maharajganj Administration

The administration of Maharajganj district has raised concerns regarding the proposal. If Farenda and Nautanwa tehsils are merged to create the new district, Maharajganj would be left with only two tehsils. According to current standards, a district should have a minimum of three tehsils. Due to this, the Maharajganj administration has requested a re-evaluation of the plan to ensure administrative efficiency and adherence to regulations.

Political Perspectives

Rakesh Tripathi, the state spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stated that the party aims for the decentralization of power and enhanced development across regions. The development of Farenda aligns with this vision. He mentioned that a decision will be made based on the feasibility reports and the overall benefits to the area’s growth.
