Several states in India continue to face monsoon rains, causing severe disruptions in some areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the next seven days across states like Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal, among others.

Andhra Pradesh:

In Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada, while floodwaters have receded in many areas, the situation remains precarious due to new rainfall and another breach in the Budameru River. IMD has warned of heavy rains and thunderstorms in coastal areas of the state, which could further complicate the flood situation.

Telangana, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh:

IMD has also issued alerts for heavy rains in Telangana, Odisha, and neighboring parts of Chhattisgarh. Continuous downpours could lead to flooding and waterlogging in these regions.

Rajasthan:

In Rajasthan, heavy rainfall led to severe waterlogging in Ajmer, prompting IMD to issue a yellow alert for the state’s eastern parts. A circulation system affecting northeastern Rajasthan is expected to keep the monsoon active in most parts of eastern Rajasthan for the next three to four days.

Bengal’s Coastal Areas:

Due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains are expected in southern Bengal starting Monday. IMD predicts that the pressure system will intensify and move toward the Odisha-West Bengal coast, leading to downpours in districts like East and West Midnapore, North and South 24 Parganas, and Jhargram from September 9 to 10.

Delhi:

In the national capital, rain is expected to continue for the upcoming week. Light showers are predicted for the next few days, with heavier rains forecasted by the middle of the week. On Sunday, the city saw overcast skies with sporadic drizzles throughout the day.

24-Hour Weather Forecast:

According to Skymet Weather, the next 24 hours could bring light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy showers in Odisha, southern Chhattisgarh, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and parts of Madhya Pradesh.
