At present time country is experienceing a very big spike in vegetable costs. Cities like Patna kanpur lucknow and Delhi is having onion being sold around 50 rupees per kg to Rs 80 per kg now. This has laid heavy weight on pocket of common man leading very less savings India accounts.
In an effort to control the rising onion prices, the Central Government will begin retail sales of onions at a subsidized rate of ₹35 per kg starting from Thursday. The sales will be conducted through mobile vans and NCCF (National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation) retail outlets across Delhi-NCR.
Minister of Food and Consumer Affairs, Prahlad Joshi, will inaugurate the retail sale from Krishi Bhavan. According to the announcement, onions will be sold through mobile vans at 38 locations, including Krishi Bhavan and the NCUI Complex.
