A new metro project is in the works to connect Noida with South Delhi via metro. The plan is to extend the Noida-Greater Noida Aqua Line from Sector-142 Metro Station directly to Tughlakabad. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has initiated the process of conducting a topography survey for this new metro line.
Connectivity to Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, and Palwal
Once this corridor is completed, reaching cities like Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, and Palwal from Noida and Greater Noida will become much easier. The existing Delhi Metro line currently connects Ballabhgarh, and there is an ongoing plan to extend it further to Palwal. The proposed Noida-Delhi metro corridor will be linked to this line, enabling people to travel to Palwal conveniently by metro.
Sector-142 to Tughlakabad Metro Corridor
Currently, the Aqua Line runs on the Noida-Greater Noida route with Sector-142 as one of the stations. The new corridor is planned to extend from Sector-142 to Tughlakabad, crossing the Yamuna River. Additionally, construction is already underway for a metro line from Saket to Tughlakabad. The proposed corridor will be approximately 15 kilometers long and will serve as the third metro link between Noida and Delhi.
New Metro Corridors Being Surveyed
According to officials, DMRC has decided to conduct a topography survey for three new metro corridors:
- Sector-142 (Noida) to Tughlakabad (Delhi)
- Samaypur Badli to Kundli
- Kundli to Sonepat
