🍾 Karnataka Govt Slashes Liquor Price! 📉 Big Cut in Liquor Prices

Karnataka government has slashed liquor prices. Now, bottles that used to cost between ₹551 to ₹650 will be available for around ₹523. The government recently revised liquor prices.

🤔 Why the Price Cut?

According to the government, the price reduction is part of the excise policy aimed at boosting local purchases and reducing financial losses. These new prices were supposed to be effective from July 1. However, due to delays in the revision process, the new prices are now effective across the state from today.

💡 Reason Behind Cheaper Liquor

The Karnataka government announced a reduction in the price slab of premium liquor. This change is effective from today. The government had earlier stated that the aim was to make high-quality brands more affordable and reduce revenue loss caused by higher liquor prices compared to neighboring states.

📈 Price Hike in Big Brands

A few months ago, prices of many big brands of whiskey, rum, and gin had increased in the state. This led people to buy alcohol from neighboring states, causing revenue loss to Karnataka. With the new price slab, bottles priced above ₹20,000 will see a reduction of up to ₹3,000.

📉 Up to 25% Reduction in Liquor Prices

The Karnataka government has reduced the prices of premium brand liquor by around 15% to 25%. The state has amended the excise duty and rules for 2024. This amendment was made in June, and the announcement was made at the end of July. After completing all procedures, the new prices have been officially implemented from August 27.
