Hey, NCR and Uttar Pradesh residents! If you’re used to throwing trash everywhere or burning it, it’s time to change your habits. The entire state now has strict new rules. You can only dispose of waste in designated areas. If you break this rule, you’ll face hefty fines.

NGT’s Strict Orders

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has implemented these restrictions across the state. You can no longer dump or burn waste by roadsides, rivers, lakes, or any government land. The tribunal’s judicial member, Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi, and expert member, Dr. Afroz Ahmed, have issued this order.

Fines and Penalties

If you violate this order, you’ll be fined between ₹5,000 to ₹25,000. And if you repeat the offense, the fine will double. This move aims to protect the environment from damage.

Where the Money Goes

The fines collected as environmental compensation will go to the respective municipal corporations, municipal councils, or the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB).

Immediate Implementation

The NGT has sent copies of the order to the Chief Secretary, Urban Development Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Secretary, and the members of the State Pollution Control Board and District Magistrates. This is to ensure the new rules are enforced immediately.
