The Noida Authority has once again initiated the process to widen the road from the Mahamaya Flyover to the Sector-14A Noida entry gate. This expansion aims to make the route to the Greater Noida Expressway from Delhi more convenient. An agency presented a proposal to the Authority’s CEO on Wednesday regarding this road widening project.
Key Details of the Road Widening Plan
- Tender Issued: Recently, the Authority issued a tender to widen the road at five different cuts from the Noida entry gate in Sector-14A to the Mahamaya Flyover.
- Specific Cuts to be Widened:
- The cut leading to the DND Flyway from Sector-3 Rajnigandha underpass.
- The FOB structure obstructing the path will also need to be removed.
- Widening these roads will ease the traffic congestion.
Additional Road Improvement Plans
- Illegal Cuts to be Closed: On the roads of Noida and Greater Noida, 36 illegal cuts will be closed. This is part of an ongoing effort to permanently resolve the traffic jams, especially on the Film City route.
- Future Projects: Plans to construct the Chilla Elevated Road are in progress, with work expected to start in the next four to five months.
- Other Specific Roads:
- The cut from Film City to the DND Flyway near Apeejay School.
- The cut leading from Sector-3 Rajnigandha underpass to Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
- Widening the cut leading to Sector-18.
Challenges and Solutions
- Obstructions: The road widening project from Mahamaya Flyover to the Noida entry gate includes numerous trees that need to be relocated.
- Permanent Structures: There are some permanent constructions near the Dalit Prerna Sthal that need to be demolished.

Commissioner’s Directives: Meerut Commissioner held a video conference meeting where transport and traffic police officials were instructed to close all 36 illegal cuts on Noida and Greater Noida roads within a week.
Enforcement Action: Dr. Udit Narayan Pandey, ARTO Enforcement, mentioned that these illegal cuts, not adhering to standards, often lead to road accidents. Immediate action will be taken to close these cuts to ensure safer roads.
