Delhi Airport Terminal-1 Flights Halted for Two More Days. Delhi Airport’s Terminal-1 remained closed for flights on Saturday. Operations for some flights were shifted to Terminal-2 and Terminal-3, while around two dozen flights were canceled. Airport authorities are hopeful that services from Terminal-1 will resume in the next two days, as they are working with various agencies to resolve the issue.
Canopy Issue Under Investigation
Sources have revealed that the canopy (roof) of Terminal-1 has not yet been removed. While the police are investigating the matter, a technical committee formed by the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) is also conducting inspections at the site.
Navigating Through Disruptions
In the meantime, passengers had to navigate through alternate arrangements at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Saturday, as they passed by the damaged section of Terminal-1. The closure led to the cancellation of several flight services.
Police Register Case of Negligence
The domestic airport police station has registered a case of negligence leading to death on Friday. Statements from the injured have been recorded separately.
Family Awaits Final Decision
The 45-year-old cab driver who lost his life when the canopy collapsed has left his family in mourning. His son mentioned that the family will decide on legal action after the final rites are completed.
