The Vande Bharat Express has been successfully running as a premium semi-high-speed train across the country, receiving positive feedback from passengers. However, the ticket prices are slightly high, making it difficult for some to travel at night.

To make rail travel more convenient for the general class, Indian Railways has introduced the Amrit Bharat Express. Now, the railway plans to expand this service even further. With the formation of the new government, this train is expected to operate in more regions.

Reports suggest that a new Amrit Bharat Express might start running between Bhopal and Bengaluru from July, possibly via the Pune route. However, the schedule and stopping stations for the new train are not yet officially available.

Features of Amrit Bharat Express 🌟

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off two new Amrit Bharat trains on December 30 last year at Ayodhya Railway Station, operating between Malda-Bengaluru and Delhi-Ayodhya-Darbhanga.

Known as the common man’s train, the Amrit Bharat Express can carry around 1,834 passengers and travels at a top speed of 130 km/h with front and rear engines.

This train features second-class sleeper coaches and unreserved coaches without air conditioning (AC) systems and automatic doors.

The Amrit Bharat coaches are equipped with several advanced amenities, including mobile charging points, LED lights, food tables, and holders for mobile phones and bottles.

For security, CCTV cameras are installed. Designed for both day and night operations, the train comprises 22 coaches and covers more than 800 km in a single journey.

Upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper and Metro Trains 🚄🛌

To assist passengers traveling to distant locations, the railway department is developing the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. These trains are expected to be operational soon and will serve as an alternative to the Rajdhani Express.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper will feature 16 AC coaches with self-operated doors and odorless toilets. Additionally, to connect nearby cities, the railway department is preparing the Vande Bharat Metro trains, which are also expected to be operational soon.

Trials for these trains may start in July, with 50 Vande Bharat Metro trains currently in production.
