LPG Cylinder Prices Slashed
Good news for businesses! The country’s oil companies have reduced the prices of commercial LPG cylinders. Specifically, the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has seen a price cut of ₹69.50.
These new rates are effective from today. However, it’s worth noting that there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.
Airlines Get a Boost
Airline companies are also receiving some much-needed relief. The cost of aviation fuel has been reduced, making air travel potentially cheaper during the sweltering summer months.
The price cut for aviation fuel stands at ₹6673.87 per kiloliter. These new rates are also effective from today. Last month, prices had increased by ₹749.25 per kiloliter, following a reduction of approximately ₹502.91 per kiloliter in April. In March, prices had increased by ₹624.37 per kiloliter.
Government Provides Relief
In another move aimed at providing relief, the government has reduced the windfall tax on crude petroleum. The Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) has been lowered from ₹5700 per ton to ₹5200 per ton. These new rates have been put into effect starting from June 1, 2024.
