The proposed Jaganpur-Afzalpur interchange, which aims to connect the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Yamuna Expressway, has been facing delays in construction. After the tender was issued, farmers raised objections regarding land acquisition, causing a roadblock in the project. Once the land issue was resolved, the construction company demanded additional funds for earthwork, leading to a standstill.

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) refused to provide the extra funds, resulting in the company halting work on the interchange. The responsibility for completing the interchange has now been handed over to NHAI, with the goal of starting construction by December.

Benefits for Three States: Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana

The connection between the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Yamuna Expressway will make travel to the Noida International Airport easier for residents of Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana. This will significantly improve connectivity for travelers coming from these three regions, reducing travel time by approximately 20 kilometers.

Improving Travel Efficiency: A Step Closer to Noida International Airport

The completion of the Jaganpur-Afzalpur interchange will streamline travel for vehicles coming from Agra via the Yamuna Expressway and those coming from Haryana using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. This interchange will eliminate the need for vehicles to take a detour, saving time and making the journey more efficient.

After the interchange is constructed, vehicles coming from cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Mathura, and Vrindavan will have easier access to Haryana, Palwal, Kundli, Sonipat, Panipat, Faridabad, and Jaipur in Rajasthan via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
