The Public Works Department (PWD) is planning to construct 10 new flyovers, elevated roads, and underpasses to alleviate traffic congestion on Delhi’s roads.
Site Selection & Cost Estimation:
- Sites have been identified, and estimated costs have been calculated for construction.
- The total estimated cost for these 10 projects is around Rs. 4,000 crore.
Departmental Reports Requested:
- PWD has requested detailed traffic reports from the Traffic Police and Transport Department.
- Decisions regarding project implementation will be based on these reports.
Other Initiatives to Address Traffic Issues:
- Traffic Police, PWD, and Transport Department are working together to tackle traffic problems.
- Recently, 117 locations were identified as major traffic congestion points in Delhi.
- Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has been urging departments to collaborate to mitigate traffic issues.

- These new flyovers, elevated roads, and underpasses are expected to significantly reduce traffic jams in Delhi.

- Choudhary Brahm Prakash Chowk to Shankar Road, KS Krishnan Marg, Dev Prakash Shastri Marg up to NSG Intersection.
- Airport Road, Budh Vihar Nala Junction.
- Ring Road from Hanuman Temple to Signature Bridge.
- Shivaji Marg from Zakhira Crossing to Karm Pura.
- From DSIDC in Bawana village through Auchandi and Kanjhawala to Narela Road.
- Underpass from Mukarba Chowk to Peeragarhi and from Jwala Hedi Market to Jwala Puri Red Light.
- Under Panchsheel Flyover.
- Under Chirag Delhi Flyover.
- Railway Over Bridge at Sukhi Nahar, Hind Vihar, and Kirari.
