Farmers in Uttar Pradesh are planning to march to Delhi to demand the fulfillment of their demands. They will gather at Mahamaya flyover and then proceed towards the capital city.
In anticipation of this march, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory, warning of potential congestion on the roads from Noida-Ghaziabad to Delhi on Thursday morning. The advisory was shared by the Delhi Traffic Police on Twitter.
According to the advisory, heavy traffic is expected on routes connected to Sonia Vihar, DND, Chilla, Ghazipur, Sabhapur, Apsara, and Loni border on February 8, 2024. Commuters are advised to postpone or plan their travel accordingly.
The movement of farmers towards Delhi may cause traffic jams on the expressway and roads leading to the city. Section 144 will also be enforced in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, and police action can be taken if there are unauthorized gatherings or disturbances to public peace.
In Noida, a diversion plan has been put in place to manage the expected traffic. Farmers will gather near Mahamaya flyover and march towards Delhi. Those heading towards Botanical Garden can take the Sector-94 Charkha roundabout route and then proceed towards New Ashok Nagar.
If farmers move towards Chilla, traffic will be diverted from DND. Similarly, if farmers move towards DND, traffic will pass through Chilla border. Traffic on Udyog Marg between Sector-1 Gol Chakkar and Jhundpura will be stopped, and an alternate route will be provided via Rajnigandha intersection.
