Residents of NCR cities often face heavy traffic and expenses when traveling to catch a train in Delhi. The time wasted in traffic jams and the cost of auto-taxis add to their troubles.
🚄 Relief for NCR Residents
Indian Railways is set to provide relief to residents of four NCR cities by developing a new station at Ghaziabad. This station will offer the option to catch trains right at the border, eliminating the need for a Delhi commute. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared this information on News18 India’s Choupal program.
🚄 Ghaziabad Station – Second Largest After Delhi
The construction of Ghaziabad Station, soon to be the second largest railway station after Delhi in the NCR region, is progressing rapidly. This station, situated on the Delhi-Howrah line, witnesses the passage of nearly 400 trains daily, including various types. Indian Railways is refurbishing Ghaziabad and surrounding areas to provide convenience to residents.
🚆 Relief for NCR Dwellers
NCR comprises four Uttar Pradesh cities: Ghaziabad, Trans-Hindon, Noida, and Greater Noida, all closely connected to Delhi. Due to the lack of facilities at Ghaziabad Station, many residents travel 30-40 kilometers to Delhi instead. After the station’s development, commuters from these cities can catch trains right here, and if the passenger count increases, more train services will be added, reducing the rush to Delhi.
🚄 Upcoming Changes
The estimated cost for the development of Ghaziabad Railway Station is around 450 crores. This budget will cover entrance gates, platforms, waiting rooms, ticket booking counters, passenger amenities, lifts, escalators, station approach roads, parking, and a food court.
🚆 Surat of Station to Transform by Next Year
The development timeline for Ghaziabad Station is set until 2025. Thus, from next year onwards, residents of NCR cities will enjoy a more convenient train travel experience, eliminating the need for the Delhi hustle and bustle.
