  1. Zero Electricity Bills: The policy encourages households to install solar panels, ensuring that those consuming over 201 units of electricity will have zero electricity bills.
  2. Four-Year Payback: Individuals investing in solar panels can expect a return on investment within four years.
  3. Focus on Awareness: Despite the success of the 2016 Solar Energy Policy, public awareness remains limited. The new policy seeks to increase awareness and adoption of solar energy.
  4. Mandatory Solar Panels on Government Buildings: All government buildings with an area of 500 square meters will be required to install solar panels within the next three years.
  5. Subsidies and Incentives: The Delhi government will provide a subsidy of Rs. 10,000 for solar panel installation. Additionally, incentives will be offered for setting up systems of 300 kilowatts.
