Atishi, who previously held the portfolios of the tourism department, art, culture, and language department, has now been given the responsibility of the Water Minister. On the other hand, Saurabh Bhardwaj has been assigned the departments of Health, Industry and Urban Development, Tourism, and Art Culture.

The proposal for this cabinet reshuffle has been sent to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) by the Delhi Government, and it has received approval. The official notification regarding the reshuffling of portfolios is expected to be issued soon.

One of the main challenges currently faced by the Water Board is a financial crisis. The board is struggling to progress with important schemes, such as the installation of reverse osmosis (RO) plants. Various plans in Delhi, including the installation of tube wells, upgrading sewage treatment plants (STP), and installing flow meters, are running behind schedule.
